Established in 2005 by Kevin Rasmussen, So Cal HERS Raters emerged in response to a pivotal legislative shift in California’s HVAC industry. With the enactment of a new state law mandating the engagement of specialized inspectors known as “HERS Raters” for post-HVAC system alterations or replacements, Kevin recognized an opportunity to address an emerging market need.
Motivated by a keen awareness of industry evolution and a commitment to quality assurance, Kevin embarked on a journey to establish a reputable firm that would not only meet but exceed regulatory standards. Over the ensuing years, his dedication evolved beyond mere compliance to encompass a profound passion for energy efficiency, sustainability, and green building practices.
