CalGreen is the first satewide "Green" building code adopted in the United States.

Written under Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, it became effective in 2011 to improve public health, reduce environmental impact, and encourage sustainable building practices.

CalGREEN has mandatory measures for residential
and non-residential New Construction that are required
non-negotiable.

However, many jurisdictions have stricter Green code that goes above-and-beyond the minimum mandatory measures.

Check with your local municipality to see if they require Tier I or Tier II for code compliance.
